Growing Your Banyan Tree From Seed In 4 Simple Steps

# 1 | Soak your seeds for 24 hours in warm water.

# 2 | Fill a pot with high-quality potting soil. Use your fingers to even out and lightly pack the potting soil for your banyan tree. Once the soil is set, poke a 2-inch wide 1/4 inch deep hole into the top center of the potting soil.

# 3 | Place a Banyan tree seed into the hole that you have just created in the potting soil. Cover the seed entirely, but do not tightly pack the soil over it.

# 4 | Fill a spray bottle with water, and spritz the soil until it is moist, but not soaked. Cover your pot with a plastic cling wrap.

# 5 | Check the soil every day, making sure to keep it moist. After a few weeks you may see tiny green shoots starting to poke out of the soil. However banyan trees can take several months to germinate. Once the tree seedling is 3 inches to 4 inches tall, it is ready to be transplanted outside if you choose.
