How to Grow Bunny Tail Grass Seeds

#1 | Fill a seed-raising flat up to one inch from the top with moist, seed-starting mix. Sprinkle the bunny tail seeds over the surface and cover them lightly with a 1/4-inch layer of soil. Lightly tamp down the surface and spray it with water from a spray bottle to avoid washing away the seeds.

# 2 | Stretch plastic wrap over the seed-raising flat to help the soil maintain its moisture, and place the tray in an area that's 55 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

#3 | Lift the plastic wrap daily, and if needed, spray the soil with a water-filled bottle to keep it moist during the germination period. Expect the seeds to germinate within 15 to 20 days.

#4 | Place the bunny tail seedlings outside every day for one or two weeks so they can acclimate to the outdoor environment. Keep them outside for two hours after the spring frost has past and gradually increase the duration. Leave the seedlings outside overnight toward the end of the hardening-off period

#5 | Cultivate the soil in a sunny part of the garden. Remove weeds, rocks and clumps and incorporate a layer of compost in the soil to promote drainage and nutrients. Rake the soil to level it. Transplant the bunny tail seedlings when they have two sets of true leaves. Space the seedlings 12 inches apart.
